I’ve been to Slim’s Rooftop quite a few times on different days and at different times. I enjoy it most when it’s not overly busy, you can get to the bar easily, chat, and actually enjoy the space. The rooftop areas are great, especially in summer when you don’t want to be indoors. It can get very busy, which is fun if that’s what you’re after, but I prefer it a little calmer. The drinks selection is slightly limited in parts, but it covers the basics. Overall, it’s a decent city rooftop I’ll likely return to, though it wouldn’t be one of my favourite bars in Sydney.
Great spot for a summer afternoon cocktail. Views are lovely to st Mary's cathedral and the city. There is lots of space and shade as well. The bar menu includes snacks and a good cocktail selection. A DJ is also there sometimes to bring the summer vibes. Definitely worth a stop.
I visited the rooftop bar on a Thursday for sundowner drinks. Both bartenders serving at the rooftop bar ignored me when I was next to be served, having a conversation with the person behind me in the queue who had a bar tab that was about to run out. Staff allowed this queue jumping to happen, they clearly showed preference to serve the customer behind me because of some prior connection. Music was pretty loud and with the buzz from neighbouring patrons it was difficult to sustain a conversation at the table (we were a group of 6). Security was glad to help with taking a few group photos and greeted us on our departure.
I've been to Slims a number of times and it would have to be one of the best rooftop bars in Sydney. Located at the top of Hyde Park House on William Street (behind the Australian Museum), it's a multi level "pub" with various venues on each floor with Slims obviously at the top...well it is a rooftop bar so 🤷♂️😛 The stairs are quite narrow and it's a bit like one way traffic at times but it's well worth it once you get there. The view of the city is amazing and there are plenty of chairs and tables to go around. Staff are super friendly and helpful and happy to offer food suggestions. About the food....it was delicious! Most of it is designed to share (unless you're THAT person!😂) and there was enough to go around for the four of us. I can recommend the salt and pepper squid, yum! Can't recommend Slims enough but make sure you book, especially in summer, as it gets full really quickly.
I recently had the opportunity to book a rooftop event for 30 people at Slims Rooftop in Sydney, and overall I had a great experience. The service provided by the staff was excellent, and the view of the Sydney city skyline was absolutely stunning. Additionally, the food served was delicious and everyone in our group enjoyed their meals. Despite the wonderful experience, I have to mention that there was a downside to the evening. We were informed that we had to vacate the rooftop after a few hours due to another booking. This was disappointing as we had spent a considerable amount of money on food and drinks and we would have preferred to have been able to stay longer. Despite this, I would still recommend Slims Rooftop for events and gatherings. The food, drinks, and view were all excellent, and the staff provided good service throughout our time there. Overall, I would give Slims Rooftop a four-star review.
