What people say
Berrara is a lovely location, last time i was there it was busy with hardly any parking, there are toilets and even a little coffee truck a bit further up the road. The lagoon is very chilled and very popular for kids, the water is stunning, just walk through and head over to the main beach, easy access.
Great lagoon for kids. Come during the incoming tide (high tide), when the ocean is feeding into the lagoon, for crystal clear, clean blue waters. Outgoing tide is a little gross as the creek water starts to fill the lagoon. There's also a very gentle current during high tide from the ocean into the lagoon that is very safe for kids and my 4yo loved going down it on a pool noodle.
Such a beautiful and gorgeous spot perfect for familys 🏖🏖🏖 The lagoon has become bigger and bigger over time it's size in width depends on the tides and time of the day. These photos are from morning which is high tide. From 11am onwards is the best time to go. The water is clean and absolutely crystal clear 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 Once you walk across the lagoon the beach area is stunning the waves aren't too big 🌊🌊🌊 Overall highly reccomend one of the best spots in the area 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Good experience to be had here, and environmentally crucial to the local habit. Even on a wintery and wet day, the lagoon (as it is now, no longer open to the sea) is abuzz with animals (kangaroos galore), birds and early spring flowering dune plants (it's late August). Engaging for youngsters, if need to preserve the fragile ecosystem is explained. Place deserted and powerfully peaceful in a turbulent world. Nature will win, we will pay ...
