Dog-friendly beaches in Eastern Suburbs

Rose Bay Beach is one of the standout harbour beaches for dogs, with a long stretch of sand and consistently calm conditions. The water is shallow with sandbars extending out, allowing dogs to wade, stand, and play without needing to swim.

Bellamy Beach is a sheltered Rose Bay spot with calm water, shade and a mix of sand and lawn. Dogs are welcome on-leash, and the gentle harbour conditions make it a pleasant place for a quiet paddle or a slow walk by the water. It is a low-key alternative to the busier beaches nearby.

Murray Rose Pool, also known as Redleaf Pool, is a beautiful harbourside ocean pool in Double Bay with floating platforms and a relaxed, family feel. Dogs are permitted on-leash in the park up to the cafe level, and are not allowed at the swimming enclosure or in the adjoining Blackburn Gardens. There is shade, grass and toilets nearby. A scenic spot for an on-leash walk above the pool.

Lady Martins Beach is a small, sheltered harbour beach at Darling Point with calm water and a quiet feel. Dogs are permitted on-leash under effective control, and the gentle conditions make it a pleasant place for a slow walk or a paddle. There is parking and BBQ facilities on hand. A low-key on-leash beach on the harbour.
