Bundeena Beach is a dog-friendly beach with a designated off-leash area where dogs can roam freely. You'll find BBQs, parking, and toilets nearby, and the calm, shallow water is great for dogs who enjoy a gentle paddle. Some conditions apply, so it's worth checking before you visit.
Council off-leash beach. Warmer months (Sep–Apr): no dogs on weekends/public holidays; weekdays on-leash 8:30am–4:30pm, off-leash 4:30pm–8:30am. Colder months (May–Aug): off-leash any time.
Great beach! It was very well kept, family friendly with playground nearby, and close to the downtown shops. Good for swimming. Has a boat launch nearby. Very few spots for shade though
Bundeena is located 29km south of Sydney CBD in the Royal National Park, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺. A beautiful drive to get here. It makes for a really lovely day out with family and friends with several food outlets or you can make use of the BBQ facilities in the small park which also includes a great children’s playground. There’s a great walk pathway along the water to Bundeena Wharf where there’s a great ferry service between Bundeena and Cronulla. These ferries run both on weekdays and weekends. On weekdays they run every hour except for the lunch time one. On weekends they also run every hour. For adults it cost $8.80 each way. For children (4-15 yrs) and concession, it costs $4.40 each way. You can also get a family ticket (2 adults, 2 children) for $23.00 each way. There are toilets near the IGA supermarket. I have been here several times now by both car and the ferry and both I can recommend. Thumbs up 👍👍👍
I usually come here for a day trip with the fur baby, It's usually very quiet when I'm here, Georgie loves it and so do i. Dogs can be on and off leash at specific times during the day. It's such a lovely day out. There is street parking or more available parking near the ramp.
Beautiful beach, 30 Minutes from the Sutherland Shire. It’s very quiet and peaceful. Great for a swim, a picnic or a walk. Kid friendly with toilet facilities etc
Great little beach in the Royal National Park area. If you’re looking to do something for half a day that’s not a bush hike…you can head down to Bundeena, walk on the beach with your dogs and then grab something at the cafe afterwards. Bundeena itself and the beach is VERY popular, so you’ve really got to time it in the morning or go in the winter season if you’re hoping to easily find parking and have a bit of space from other people…this is the only reason it’s not 5 stars. Too popular for its own good but still worth a visit for those who’ve never been or those not sure what to do on a day off
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
