Great customer service Great Cleanliness in all the amenities (at different times of the day too ) including the pool , toilets and the whole park Great showers pressure is awesome !!!! Great location so close to the beach/lake and walking distance to the rock pools We will be rebooking for next year again Being over Xmas too we were worried about the noise and space BUT it’s been so quiet everyone has been well behaved and we have lots of space doesn’t feel cramped at all the park is very well spaced out . As another guest from Giaan’s group, and given we cannot respond directly to the owner’s reply, I feel it is necessary to clarify a few points for “accuracy”. It is disappointing that your reply focuses primarily on disputing our experience rather than acknowledging it. Whether our group has stayed once or multiple times previously does not change the facts of this booking, nor does it lessen the expectation that paid sites would not be altered without notice. We booked and paid for specific ensuite sites, which were changed without any prior communication. This was only discovered upon arrival, leaving no opportunity to prepare or adjust plans. Notably, one of our original paid sites remained vacant, yet relocation was refused. While you reference your terms and conditions, policies do not negate the importance of basic communication, accountability, or customer care, particularly when errors occur. A simple explanation or acknowledgment would have gone a long way in de-escalating the situation. With regard to the conduct of staff, our concerns were raised calmly and respectfully. Being told to leave the office, hearing staff swear under their breath and being threatened with removal despite no abusive behaviour was confronting and unnecessary. These actions contributed significantly to the distress of five families, particularly during what was meant to be a holiday period. You state that race or ethnicity was not mentioned during interactions. However, the perception of differential treatment arose from observable actions, including the reallocation of our original sites to others while our group was denied relocation. While intent may be disputed, impact remains, and dismissing this concern outright rather than reflecting on it only reinforces why the experience felt so upsetting. We acknowledge that peak periods are challenging to manage. However, professionalism is demonstrated not by rigidly standing behind policies, but by how issues are handled when things go wrong. Unfortunately, that was not reflected in our experience. We maintain our review as an accurate account of what occurred and hope future guests receive clearer communication and more considerate resolution should similar issues arise.
We’ve stayed at Holiday Haven Currarong every Christmas for years without issue, but this year was extremely disappointing. We booked and paid for our ensuite sites, however, they were changed without notice or consent. We only found out that the change had occurred when checking in on the day. Although one of our paid original sites were vacant, management refused to relocated it to us. The only alternative offered were two ensuites far away from our sites, that found to be useless in pitching our tents as they were caravan sites. After hours of struggling to pitch the tents, we had to cram 5 tents and 2 gazebos into 3 camp sites due to their error in providing appropriate sites for tents. Staff member Kelly claimed she was the “victim” of verbal attacks, despite us only raising concerns and complaining of the sudden changes. The manager, Rebecca, refused to take responsibility or apologize. We observed that our original paid sites were reallocated to white guests, while our group, who are Asian, were refused relocation. Kelly also swore quietly as we were yelled at to leave the office, and management threatened to forcibly remove all five families despite no abusive behaviour. The customer service from the management and admin team was absolutely appalling, unprofessional, irresponsible, dismissive, coercive, rude and discriminatory/racist against Asians. There was: • No prior notification of the site change • No explanation for this action • No accountability taken by management • No apology for their actions After many years of returning, this experience caused significant disappointment amongst 5 families and felt unfairly targeted. Future guests should be aware that site allocation errors may not be remedied appropriately, and that racism and discriminatory treatments may be subjected at certain ethnicities, especially Asians.
Holiday Haven was just such a great caravan park, the family who run it were just outstanding and so were the staff! We made a mistake with our booking and they were so accommodating and really helped us out! We're travelling full time and don't often leave reviews but had to review this awesome park! Splash pad for kids, pool, playground, mini golf, carts you can ride around on, close to the beach! Thanks guys !!
Awesome van Park. Easy walk to beach and local bowling club. Was lucky enough to have a site with zero neighbours but would probably get busy during silly season
