Tarana Cafe

Went in for a vanilla slice to take away because I saw a post on Facebook and they looked so good. I haven’t really had many vanilla slices in my day but this one was perfect and as good as it looked. But, the 2 staff did not acknowledge us when we walked into the cafe. One was busy doing coffees and didn’t look up, and the other one not sure what she was doing but she didn’t greet us either. After standing there looking around a bit and waiting to be acknowledged, I made the first move and said what I was after (I did, however, get an acknowledgment when we walked in the door from one of the customers who was part of a party of about 6 people, the only customers in the place). While the decor of the cafe is inviting, the welcome we got wasn’t. We are locals and while I will probably go back to get another vanilla slice, nothing in our experience yesterday has enticed us to come in for a sit down lunch.

Yum! The meals were so good and huge! The best BLT and chips I’ve had! So friendly and gorgeous cute place to rest and enjoy!

Absolutely amazing place. Not our first time, but unfortunately not our local as we need to travel to get there. A destination place and definitely worth the journey. The atmosphere is so peaceful, relaxed, and family friendly. The service is fantastic, and the food is amazing. My wife has asked me to add that the vanilla slice is the best she’s ever had. Highly recommended!

Have arrived here in the winter to meet very kind and warm service with fresh and delicious food. Had chicken salad,pie, burger,sweet potato chips and big brekkie. All Recommended!
