Tillermans is a cafe in Tea Gardens with an outdoor area. Dog access isn't confirmed, but venues with an outdoor area are often dog friendly, so it may be worth checking. Just 50m away, Marine Drive Foreshore Reserve is a great nearby park for a walk with your dog.

During a recent visit to Hawks Nest, I ended up at Tillermans in Tea Gardens a bit by chance, as the other options I’d selected for breakfast were busy and the outside seating was already taken. As I passed by Tillermans, staff asked if I was after a table to sit with my dog, and then found me what I wanted. So that was a good start. I was thinking of a pretty standard eggs sort of breakfast, but was immediately impressed with the choice of items on the menu. I accepted the challenge to try something new, and chose the spiced lamb mince, which came with poached eggs. It was delicious. Just spicy enough for breakfast, and a little crunchy with the pistachios. The eggs were poached perfectly, for my taste, with yolks still just runny. The toast was served separately, which suited me, and which I used to mop up the yummy sauce. My large flat white also hit the spot. I found the service very friendly and efficient, such that I was quite surprised to read some negative comments in the reviews. It was a pleasant place to sit outside. Quiet, with views across the water sparkling in the sunshine. I’d be happy to return, and feel sure that I’ll do so when visiting the area. Several times, in fact, because the menu does have options just that bit out of the ordinary.

We have been coming to Tlllermans since the 1990s but this weekend was the first time for a few years. So wonderful to find that the ambience, the food and the welcome were as good as ever. We recommend this restaurant VERY highly. We can't wait to visit again. Thank you.

After 5 minutes of standing at the 'wait to be seated sign' despite several staff members walking right by us, we were informed to wait for another staff member to be seated. The lady we spoke with was honestly quite rude and dismissive stating 'you can't sit there, I decide where you sit' (or to the effect of). I'm sure the food is nice but we didn't get that far and left. Not the first time I've been spoken to poorly by this lady but it will be the last. Coming from a local there are better places to eat in town.

Look, the owners can be a little taciturn (and we have always sensed over the years that they think they are doing us a favour by allowing us to dine there) but if you can get past that, the food and service is excellent. The 3-course lunch deal with wine was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Other than Mumms up the road, this is the best restaurant in the area.

Lovely friendly service! Delicious meals with a good 3 course meal deal fine dining and beautifully plated meals. The 3 course French lunch meal (the deal includes wine) costs $40. The salmon entree was generous with crunchy bread pate. The chicken was hot and great portion. The dessert also nice hot sweet waffle? with strawberry and blackberry. The soup of the day was cold tomato with hot bread, nice combination! There were some flies flying around unfortunately (summer). We had a fantastic experience. Thank you!
