Came here to enjoy a “casual catch up” with friends and a small, very well behaved, non-shedding dog. We chose this venue specifically based off this post on their public facebook stating “yes, we’re pet friendly” and #dogfriendlydining - post was only from May this year. We were sitting out on the Terrace (the one literally pictured in the post) only to be approached by security in a venue full of onlookers to be asked if it was a service dog (which he is not) then asked to leave the premises as “we don’t allow dogs”. I showed them this post and staff were surprised and went to get clarification from a Manager (who was watching from inside but never interacted with us) only to return to again confirm we needed to leave. A long awaited evening completely ruined by false advertising and poor handling. Some advice based off our uncomfortable experience: • When you have made a mistake in your advertising, it would be more polite to send someone not dressed in Security uniform to address the situation. We were absolutely horrified at how this would’ve been perceived by the many onlookers taking interest in the situation. The staring from staff as we exited was also uncomfortable and completely unnecessary. • If there are caveats to your premises being dog friendly this needs to be extremely clear in your advertising and not misleading to avoid such instances. The word ‘dining’ generally refers to the main meal of the day, being dinner and the photo of the terrace would, to most, indicate that this is the section of your establishment that is dog friendly. All in all, 0/10 experience. The poor security guard seemed also mortified by the situation. All we wanted was a quiet catch up after a really difficult few months and this whole situation was entirely avoidable and unnecessary.
Great location, amazing friendly staff, great menu selection and the food was amazing. There is a variety of setting across the venue with different feels. Didn’t stay in the rooms but have heard they are awesome
Visited Warners Bay Hotel, on January 17, 2026, around 10 PM for a casual evening with friends. We spent over $400 combined on food, pokies, drinks, staying relaxed and causing no disturbances. no intoxication, no arguments, just enjoying the facilities as regular patrons. Without warning or any apparent reason, a security guard (showing licence Class 1AE, expiring Dec 2026) approached my friend, used aggressive verbal language, and insisted he leave immediately. It appeared arbitrary, as if he was seeking to eject someone despite the calm atmosphere. When I politely asked to see his badge for identification (which he provided), he seemed defensive and extended the directive to me, threatening removal simply for being associated with my friend. This handling felt unfair and unprofessional, especially after we’d contributed significantly to the venue that night. It made us feel unwelcome and unsafe, turning a positive outing into a negative one. The venue should investigate this incident, review CCTV if available, and ensure security staff adhere to reasonable conduct standards under NSW licensing rules. Disappointing experience overall, 1 star. We won’t return, and I hope management addresses this to prevent it happening to others
Not a traditional 'pub', more like an international hotel. Food prices to match, but delightfully good. I'd already eaten 2 of the duck spring rolls when taking the photo. The steak sandwich was tender and tasty.
We had a great meal with lots of options for gluten free, dairy free and even cealiac options. One of our group had a pizza which looked delicious with lots of prawns. More than I would have expected. The sound proofing of the venue was really very good and something I feel can make or break a venue. But they've put lots of effort into making it not sound clangy. Which a lot of bistros do sound. We didn't go upstairs, but I will definitely return, even though it's a half hour drive for me. Then I'll give upstairs a try and take some photos of the view.
