We had just arrived from Perth and travelled approximately 35 minutes to the Granville Hotel, only to have a very disappointing experience. It would have been appropriate to inform guests in advance that there is no elevator on the premises. I was required to carry a 15 kg suitcase upstairs without any assistance from staff, which was both inconvenient and raised safety concerns. Additionally, while my friends and I were conversing in our room, another tenant began yelling at us. Although we remained inside our room, the same individual later banged on the wall, which made us feel uncomfortable and unsafe during our stay. To make matters worse, the booking was non-refundable. No guest should have to endure such conditions. For these reasons, I would not recommend this property to others.
The staff were nice but the rooms are a bit weird where the bed is not straight and one bathroom to share with the whole hotel was unsettling. A woman did scream and bang on the walls at me and my friends and we werent even loud, we were talking in a low volume. there is a lot of weird people there and i felt so unsafe i had to leave. if anyone goes there just watch out for the odd people around. you will often hear some soft screams down the hallway and there is no view from the windows. In the bathroom it was very small and my friends even found a big cockroach in there. if i were to go again it would to only go there for a drink or play a game of pool. And its non refundable. We also had to walk up a big amount of stair with our luggage with no offer to help us. Also when walking into the hotel it smelt a bit weird. Honestly ive never felt so unsafe in my life. My friends and I should not have to deal with any behaviour from other guests when we didn't do anything. She could've spoken to us first but she didn't, instead she yelled and swore at us. The banging on the wall was the last straw. No one should ever experience that for their first hotel in Sydney. My friends and I flew from Perth and we already wanted to leave after this incident. Definitely not a safe area and just be careful when in the area
Very disappointing stay. We had just flown in from Perth and checked in around 11 pm. Unfortunately the people in the room next to us were banging on the walls and screaming, and the situation made us feel unsafe. Our booking was non-refundable, but the noise and behaviour were so bad that we ended up leaving the hotel at 1:30 am. After travelling across the country, having to leave in the middle of the night because of disruptive guests was extremely frustrating. Definitely not the experience we expected.
It is obviously an old hotel. Condition of the room is not bad but smell a little bit. Windows are broken from out side, roller curtain doesnt fold up which is broken. Remote control has duct tape on it which is broken too and wont work unless you give it a good hard tap on it. Bathrooms are like campground sites. It has cheaper rates but need alot of fixings, window frames are very dusty and mouldy too. Very noisy and loud music from the back side. Not the best place to stay but you get what you pay for.
I visited today, and one of the girl may be her name is Mina was very kind, calm, and respectful. She made me feel welcome and comfortable from the moment I arrived. Her friendly and caring attitude creates a warm and positive environment. I would highly recommend visiting this place to experience such a welcoming atmosphere.
