Blue Gum Hotel is a dog-friendly pub in Waitara, with dogs welcome in the outdoor area.
Dogs are welcome in the outdoor area at the front of the hotel.
We stayed overnight only and the room was clean, neat and tidy. There are stairs to the rooms so not wheelchair friendly. There was cereal, tea and coffee supplies in a small but bright room at the end of the hall. Unfortunately an incident occurred in our room due to a heavy rain event but the staff and owners were brilliant. From the night duty manager (Jess?) that evening to the housekeeping staff, owner and manager (Matt?) the next morning we were so well looked after. Polite and professional staff make such a difference. Well done Blue Gum Hotel. 👍
A pleasant place to get a decent sized pub meal. My grilled barramundi was a good sized serving with plenty of salad and a few roast potato pieces, surrounded by a citrus dressing.
4 day stay with 4 adults. Room was cosy but comfortable and spotlessly clean. Lady who cleaned was very lovely and helpful. One meal in the pub. Food was great. Came quickly and very delicious. 4 mains and 2 desserts $108..fair price for the quality and quantity. Staff were very friendly. I would stay again.
We were here in a group of eight on a Sunday for lunch and it wasn't as busy as we expected. We pre-booked our table so our spot was assured. It did get busier later though, but it was never full. The food was tasty and a good size. Service was efficient. It had been some years since we were last there and it was well worth a second visit. In fact, my wife and I visited again a week later and had the prawn pasta that was delicious. Coopers stout on tap is a big draw card for me!
Just a 5-minute walk from Waitara station, Blue Gum Hotel is a great venue for watching live sport. We were able to watch an NRL game on the big screen with the sound on. Staff were happy to reserve a table in front of the screen for us. The selection of craft beers is amazing, they had a dozen or more I'd never tried including a couple of great IPAs. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is nice in the dining area. The only negative was the spicy prawn pizza we ordered that was soggy, undercooked and just generally a terrible pizza. The buffalo wings were good though. Will be back to watch more footy and sample more craft beers. Also, love the Roosters jersey hanging behind the bar! Cheers
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
