Fabulous Sydney venue that hosts live music practically every night of the week. It's cosy and only holds 47 people, but it's perfect for intimate performances and small gatherings. Great atmosphere, and beautiful funky decor. What a find! I hadn't been to this venue before but will definitely be back. Caroline was so welcoming and accommodating, and the service from barman Frankie was excellent. Butcher's Brew is a real gem! Free parking and plenty of dining options close by too.
My date and I were disappointed at the lack of staff intervention when we were aggressively threatened and intimidated by the mother of a performer at this bar last night. She had accused us of speaking too loudly which supposedly caused a disturbance to the performances, despite that we were sitting at the very far back of the bar in a secluded booth with absolutely no intention to be disruptive. Admittedly, we were first timers at a small live music bar like this and were unaware of the social etiquette of the venue, but nevertheless, willing to take accountability for any potential upset on her part and others’. However, her confrontational approach to the situation was wildly inappropriate, and naturally put us on the defence. It became quite frightening very quickly as she proceeded to threaten us with physical violence. The bartender on shift at the time later came to apologise and make up for the situation with free Kamikaze shots for us not long after, but while appreciated, we were also concerned that he clearly had knowledge of the situation, yet failed to do anything to assuage or remove her from the premises entirely. That being said, it’s a nice bar overall, and I think I’d come back at some point, but lesson learnt that ‘stage mums’ truly exist.
What a brilliant bar! Brilliant service, drinks & atmosphere. Every night they’re on, entertainers bring about a fantastic vibe. Caroline, Frankie & Luka have all done a phenomenal job establishing this place in Dulwich Hill. Worth coming here every time you set foot in.
Lovely, intimate venue for watching live music. Do not know if they serve food as I didn't have any but I don't think they do. Went to see Adam miller there on a weds night and it was fantastic. Bartender on site that night was excellent. Moving out of the way so people could take videos and pictures and he was very accommodating. We will def come back to see more music.
This place is a gem. We discovered it after a eat at The Fold around the corner. It’s a small but awesome local bar with live music, comfy seating and welcoming attitude. Great to see these local places, such a good vibe
