This place doesn’t get nearly enough credit. It’s a bit tucked away, so you could easily miss it, but the food was seriously impressive. The steak was one of the best I’ve had in a long time - perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and great quality. $19 for a steak and a drink is incredible value. The service was excellent too, friendly, attentive, and genuine staff. A really great experience and somewhere I’ll definitely be coming back to.

Went there with my wife food was Ok saw this man looked at him he said what’s up I said i thought I recognised you from around the eastern suburbs he said in a very aggressive manner no I from New Zealand. Anyway I have a beer my wife a glass of wine he then sat down at a table then to our surprise he went around the bar poured a beer which was all froth he slammed the beer glass down. Three people who were sitting next to us got up and left smart move. I spoke to the bar lady and said are you OK because he scared her with his awful behaviour I don’t blame her. What a horrible experience we certainly won’t be going back.

Nothing but good vibes and tasty food. Customer-oriented problem solving from the crew. Come early for Sunday roast! Got steak instead still superb, can’t wait to get the roast next time. Thank you so much. PS this roast is just ridiculous, best I’ve tried!

Have a feeling the reviews are possibly fake or accidentally mistaken somewhere else for this place. Went in for a Sunday roast for 2x people and got told there was only enough left for one person, I agreed to get something else of the menu instead to then hear the next group of people get told the exact same thing... so only "1x left" however clearly had more than one when the staff said this to the next group also.... Cider keg was running low also and I could only get a half pint because of this. This is a pub and within the first 10 minutes I was made well aware they had very little available to offer. I ordered the fish and chips as there were apparently no more roasts and it was wet, frozen, thick, mush of batter and barely any fish inside. It was extremely disappointing. The decor is OK, other than a fresh carpet and marble bar not much different to the pub before hand. I do not recommend as the service was disappointing.

In 1998, I went to Billy's every week with my schoolmates when I was studying abroad🇯🇵🇦🇺 It was also at Billy's that I had my first fish and chips🍺🍴 I am very happy to know that this place is still around.I'd love to go back for a beer sometime.
