Charing Cross Hotel is a dog-friendly pub in Waverley, where dogs are welcome indoors and outdoors. Around 450 metres away, Queens Park is also a great nearby park for a walk with your dog.
Dogs allowed in the main bar and beer garden.
It was our first time here, roast was delicious and huge. I was also shocked about how nice the courtyard is, perfect for a Sunday afternoon ☺️
Since the recent removal of the one, the only, Piano man (Rob E) this place isn’t worth visiting, I would actively avoid. Moderate food, minimal atmosphere and a management who don’t know which way’s up. Go to the Robin Hood Hotel!! —— This was my old comment (5star!) The best thing about the Charing Cross is Rob (the Piano Man 🎹). How he doesn’t have more nights, and why he doesn’t start earlier - is quite frankly baffling. He’s fantastic on a Saturday night and brings a different vibe to Bondi. Definitely worth checking out. 🍺
We stayed for 5 nights in the Charing Cross Hotel and really enjoyed it. Location is good, 12 minute walk to Bondi Junction. Nice cafes and places for food nearby too. Food in the pub below is actually quite good. I got the lunch rump special and thought it was tasty. The room is nice, and the mattress is incredibly comfortable. Few downsides would be the shower leaked constantly, the bathroom floor was constantly wet due to the nature of the shower and the towels were never changed in the whole 5 days. TV also didn’t work in the room. We didn’t find the live music too much of an issue at all. It’s not that loud from up in the rooms. Overall it was still a good stay.
after we had checked in to the hotel we were taken to our room and we were greeted by the smell of urine in the hallway but we pushed past this as the room was okay. However, the way we were treated and spoken to by the members of staff after we brought up a concern of ours that was causing us distress was completely unacceptable. Our issue was brushed to the side and was told to deal with it even though it should be a major concern for the hotel. The whole experience was dreadful and I would not recommend saying here at all.
Came for a Sunday Roast after hearing good things online. It really delivered! Huge portions, quick and friendly service, and delicious food. Tried both the pork belly and the beef. The pork was tender and perfectly cooked with crunchy, crispy crackling. Beef was pasture-raised sirloin; flavourful, tender and perfectly cooked. Give it a try! You won’t be disappointed and you definitely won’t leave hungry.
