A beautiful secluded beach. Not patrolled, so take care when swimming. There is always a rip or 2.

The scenery is beautiful, the beach is quiet, and the sunrise is unforgettable.

Beautiful and Quite Beach. Its an unsealed road to get here

A wonderful beach, despite the unfortunate name. We chose to park in Mystery Bay and do the easy 2 km walk to 1080 beach, as we love the spotted gum forests which are endemic to the area, and a couple of short side trails to other beaches along the way. The picnic area at the carpark is very nice with great views up and down the coast. The beach is quite long to be away from other beach users and it has a few rock formations to explore.

The disturbingly named 1080 Beach can be found at the end of the unmarked and unsealed 1080 Road in Mystery Bay, so probably best not to try this one in a standard car. It’s worth it once you get there though, as this is the beach to come to in the Mystery Bay area if the surf is too rough everywhere else. It has a protected south-facing hook sheltered by a rocky headland that is in itself a rock formation of great beauty. You park at the top of the hill near the amenities block, and take a well-built pathway to get down to the beach.
