Greenhills Beach is a beautiful stretch of sand with a designated off-leash dog area on seasonal hours. From October to April dogs are off-leash from 4pm to 10am, and from May to September from 3pm to 10am, with no dogs on the beach during the middle of the day. Access is at Gate 5, and the open sand makes a fine spot for a run and a swim within the off-leash window. A lovely dog beach around the timed hours.
Council off-leash beach (access at Gate 5). Daylight savings: dogs off-leash 4pm–10am (no dogs 10am–4pm). Standard time: off-leash 3pm–10am (no dogs 10am–3pm). Dogs on-leash entering and leaving.
Nice long stretch for a walk with your dog. There are sand mounds along the side, which are great for wearing out an energetic dog running up and down them. It’s often quite windy with rough water - fine for a quick splash, but worth being careful.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
