Heathcote Oval Dog Off-Leash Park is a fenced council off-leash area at Heathcote with shade, drinking water and parking. Dogs are allowed off-leash at all times within the fenced enclosure, with the gates locked overnight between 10:30pm and 7:15am. The fencing makes it a secure place to let a dog run. A practical, enclosed spot for an off-leash visit.
Fenced council off-leash park. Dogs permitted off-leash at all times within the fenced enclosure; gates locked 10.30pm–7.15am.
The walk is a bit challenging ( easy to moderate level ) because it has some steep parts. At the end, there's a beautiful freshwater pool called the Kingfisher Pool. It's best to park a little further away from the national park entrance, as parking is limited. There's a campsite too, but you need to book it in advance.
Nice park with good walks, wildlife and views. The routes are clearly marked but still I recommend you use an application on your phone to track your route. If you like swimming in natural pools, this national park could be the one you need to visit.
Great hike, muddy in some areas, pool area, close to waterfall train station
Beautiful national park only an hour from Sydney CBD. Some nice and easily accessible rock pools and stunning views from elevated areas. Some of the walking tracks aren’t well signposted, so download a map before setting off. The Kingfisher Pool is a highlight, an easy walk from Waterfall
It's quite a peaceful hike but the trail is actually very difficult, many rocks! Also the signs are not many so easily get lost. It takes me an hour to find Kingfisher pool though it supposed to be only 1.6km away. However, I still enjoy this hike very much
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
