It was our first time visiting The Local Jervis Bay, as we are spending our holidays in Jervis Bay, and unfortunately our experience was not the best. The cup in which my coffee was served was not properly cleaned, with visible dirt near the rim where you drink, which raised concerns about hygiene. The overall cleanliness of the place also fell short: tables were dirty, the floor had food scraps, and the air conditioning was dripping water directly onto the table, even falling close to the food. Additionally, the food was brought out without cutlery, and we had to ask for it afterward. We believe the venue has potential, but improvements in hygiene, maintenance, and attention to detail in service would make a significant difference to the customer experience.

Is this matcha or milk? You tell me. Such a shame, great spot and friendly service, but you cannot be serving this and call it a matcha latte and have it basically be milk with a whisper of matcha. I didn't picture it unfortunately but they also toasted the smoked salmon bagel I ordered. They didn't ask if I wanted it to be toasted or not, so I ended up with this dry piece of overcooked salmon inside a tough, chewy bagel that I couldn't even cut with the cutlery they gave me. If you're a matcha lover, don't order it here. Just get something predictable like a hot choco or chai.

We used The Local to cater for an 80th birthday. Charlie provided us with all the options and advised us on the best option for the outdoor event we wanted. We were provided with menu ideas, suggestions and price. She answered all our questions to make our planning easy. On the day, Steve and Sophie were super organised. The food was excellent and everyone had a personal favourite. Sophie was very efficient in balancing the serving of food with looking after the drinks. Because of the weather we were indoors and Steve worked efficiently in his workspace. The area was cleaned before leaving. Steve and Sophie were very professional and friendly. It was a very relaxing day because we knew they had everything under control. Highly recommend The Local for a function. Jan

A wonderful cafe who went above and beyond to provide a spot for 7 of us (3 vegan, 3 vegetarians and 1 Omni) to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Steve went and got us a spare table from somewhere despite being incredibly busy, and they organised the most beautiful vegan cake with candles etc …! The food was all stunning for all of us and super coffee and house made chai. Be sure to visit this little gem

The Local in Vincentia turned out to be a gem of a find and offers an unbeatable dining experience. The ambience is perfect for a relaxed meal, complemented by attentive service that makes you feel truly valued. I ordered the barramundi with salad and chips, and it was the best I've ever had—nothing left on my plate! On our way out, we couldn't resist the homemade caramel slice, scones, and carrot cake, all of which were absolute perfection. Highly recommended!
