Dog rules

Under the NSW Companion Animals Act 1998, section 13(1): "A dog (other than a dog being exhibited at a show or being trialled or trained for showing) that is in a public place must be under the effective control of some competent person by means of an adequate chain, cord or leash that is attached to the dog and that is being held by (or secured to) the person." Blue Mountains City Council publishes a list of 14 designated off-leash dog areas in the Blue Mountains; this venue is not on that list, so the NSW Act's leash requirement applies. (Source: NSW Companion Animals Act 1998 s.13, legislation.nsw.gov.au; BMCC "Off-Leash Dog Areas in the Blue Mountains" page, bmcc.nsw.gov.au/dogs.)

Excellent place for a walk. First train tunnel into glenbrook. Good place to see natural bush without travelling hours.

To get to tunnel entry, it’s a very hard and boggy walk. Very interesting though. It’s an old train tunnel, then it became a mushroom tunnel and bomb tunnel

Great spot to see what was blown out be the convicts and carted out by hand to build the original tunnel for the steam trains. Very overgrown but. Quite hard to get down to entrance, very biggy down the bottom be sure to wear gumboots.

Beautiful place which would make a great Lower Blue Mountains Rail Trail. Lower Blue Mountains Rail Trail, Glenbrook. Why doesn't anyone know about this and why hasn't it been fully rehabilitated? It's almost complete. Original cuttings appear to be in good condition. There is even a tunnel which apprently has a mushroom farm in it. This tunnel was added to replace the need for the zig zag railway, but was replaced by the current railway line only a few years later.
