We had a lovely meal at Taste of the Country during our Hunter Valley visit. The atmosphere was charming and country-style. Whether sitting inside or enjoying the outdoor terrace, it’s a relaxed and tasty stop in Hunter Valley — perfect for brunch or lunch after exploring the vineyards. Highly recommended!
A lovely cafe with a good menu. Highly recommend the smashed avacado on toast and any of the smoothies. Friendly service and didn’t have to wait too long for the food. Indoor and outdoor seating available. The only negative would is the food is a bit pricey.
Such a cute little café with great coffee, cheese, and fudge honestly hard to leave without treats. A perfect Hunter Valley stop, with quirky giftware and a cosy, welcoming vibe.
Great place to stop off for breakfast. Friendly staff, lots of options, a little pricey but the food is evidently made using quality ingredients so it's worth it.
Absolutely loved “Taste of the Country” in the Hunter Valley! “Nan” is an absolute gem — nothing is ever too much trouble. We called last minute on a Sunday with zero notice asking if she could fit 17 of us in for a late breakfast, and she welcomed us like we were old friends visiting her home. She made sure everyone (especially the kids!) was comfortable and looked after, which made the whole experience feel extra special. The food was incredible — huge portions and so full of flavour. The scrambled eggs were honestly the best I’ve had in years, and the pricing was super reasonable. We loved it so much we came back the next day with just our little family (Nan even remembered our names) to try their Special - pie with mash, peas and gravy — and it did not disappoint! Absolutely delicious. Can’t recommend this place enough — amazing food, warm country hospitality, and Nan’s kindness really makes it feel like home. 💛 Excuse the half eaten pie picture…. We couldn’t wait to dive in. Ken and Kristy
