Lochiel House is a cafe in Kurrajong Heights. We don't yet have enough signals to confirm whether dogs are allowed. It's best to check with the venue before visiting with your dog.
Once upon a time, Lochiel House was my favourite restaurant in the world. Back when Wayne and Jess ran the place, it was a world-class dining destination. I believe the restaurant/cafe has changed hands maybe 2-3 more times since I last visited. On a quiet Saturday, they had 3x FOH staff to look after 3 tables of guests (including ours). No water or cutlery was brought to the table. The high chair for toddlers that was given to us by the waitress was covered in dirt and dust. It was frustrating having to constantly get-up from the table to walk to the front desk, and interrupt the staff deep in chatter to ask for napkins and knives for our table. They never once came out to check-in on us, except just to bring food. The food itself was…passable. We ordered a ham & cheese croissant for our son, which arrived as a toastie (and bizarrely isn’t even on their menu). My “smash burger” was edible, but I feel the beef grade quality wasn’t particularly high - it tasted like something you would try to make at home with supermarket produce. I acknowledge that this is not a restaurant and is now a “cafe”, but I think there are some definitive areas of improvement to make the venue more hospitable. Lochiel House is a jewel with such an amazing history, and has great potential with the right menu and service.
Cutest cottage vibes and super friendly staff. Great coffee, and new lunch menu which looks amazing! Definitely worth a stop if you’re passing by or a local.
Met Sharon and Steven the new owners. Very lovely and very hard working people with big hearts and good customer service. You'll feel very welcome in this place.
Tucked away in the charming Kurrajong Heights in the Bells Line of Road, Lochiel House offers a dining experience that is both elegant and inviting. From the moment me and my friend stepped in, we were welcomed with warmth, setting the tone for a memorable meal. The beef eye fillet was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and beautifully plated. The warm brownie with raspberries and sorbet was indulgent and well-balanced, making for a perfect dessert. Despite having only one staff member, the service was exceptional—attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. The cozy, rustic ambiance made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for those looking for great food, warm hospitality, and a charming atmosphere. Will definitely be back!
We had a lovely dinner here. Food was great and affordable for the set menu. Service was fantastic. We got a welcome card for our anniversary, which is very nice touch. Definitely recommended!!
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
