We’ve visited the Tumbulgum Pub a few times and it never disappoints! The prawn and avo bake and crumbed lamb cutlets were delicious—classic Aussie pub food done right. On another visit we enjoyed drinks and an antipasto platter for two with local cheeses, cured meats, and olives—perfect with the stunning Tweed River views. Relaxed vibe, friendly service, and plenty of shaded outdoor seating make this a must-stop pub. Tip: Time your visit for sunset—it’s magic over the river! 🌅 We visited again on the Australia Day weekend 2026 and were a bit disappointed to see a new menu, as we loved the old true-blue Aussie favourites, but service was great and very quick. The food itself was excellent. My partner's rump steak was melt-in-the-mouth with mash and veg, and the snapper burgers were beautifully battered and cooked perfectly on a soft brioche bun. It was very hot and the dining room could really benefit from air-conditioning, or a misting system would also be a great addition to outside area to escape the Aussie heat. We moved to the bar area after our meal, which was cooler and had live music — a lovely way to finish.

We had our 42-year School reunion here yesterday (Sunday). It was the best day. The staff were friendly and great at their job. I hope the poor guy that rolled his ankle is ok. He just kept working like a powerhouse. We had little platters of food for the tables. The Pork Belly was so tender and full of flavour, the prawns looked so fresh and tasty ( I can’t eat shellfish but everyone else loved them ), the buffalo wings were yummo. All up, it was a great day. Thank you for looking after us and we will be back.

I had the seniors rump steak with mash and veggies and it was delicious.mash was great , really nice mushroom gravy and crunchy veggies. Wife had Thai beef salad but meat was fatty and salad had no noodles and too much dressing so she was kindly allowed to swap meal for medium steak and chips with salad but the meat was undercooked and salad had too much dressing so she didn’t like that one but didn’t complain so I got to eat another meal. Staff were very nice. Table water is nice and cold .

Have been here twice both on a busy Easter Monday and had fantastic meals on both occasions so decide to write a review. We had the seafood platter for one, Caesar salad + prawns, Prawn and Avocado bake, and pumpkin and beetroot salad with chicken, followed by warm apple pie and ice cream. Every single dish was fresh and tasty. Plenty of dining and bar space inside and out beside the lovely river. Service was prompt, courteous and efficient but staff didn’t go out of their way to be personable which is likely due to the busy lunch period. We will definitely be back and recommend this to diners of all ages and palates.
