This is popular bakery with a cafe. It's open most days from 7am. A large wood oven is visible to customers. They also make pizzas. They have a wide ranging menu and also willing your own order as we wanted. Not many cafes keen to do that. Prices are competitive. Staff are very friendly and helpful. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available. Nice interior decor. Service is prompt and courteous. You have to park on the street and it's tricky during peak hours.

Food was good, and I like that they do 1/2 serves of most breakfast items. However, my husband and I visited on a Sunday during the Christmas break. I ordered from the counter and paid. The total seemed quite high, so I asked the server to confirm the price. She assured me it was correct and explained there was a public holiday surcharge, which I completely understand. When I then asked for a receipt, she suddenly realised I’d been overcharged and handed me $15 in cash before moving on to the next customer. It was only when I returned to my table and did the maths myself, that I realised I was actually owed a little more. It wasn’t much more, so I let it go. The whole thing just left me feeling a bit ripped off before I’d even got my meal, particularly since there was no apology, and even more that when I asked the first time I was assured the total was correct.

Best atmosphere in town. I loved the vibe at Goldfish Bakery. It feels very grounded and down-to-earth. We sat outside under the grape vines, which was lovely, but seeing the big fire pizza oven inside was also really cool, kids loved it. We had a great breakfast (croissants and Egg Forestiere) with some coffee and Karma Cola. The staff were friendly and quick. A must-visit!

Tried their Avocado smash with Poached egg and added their home made Hollandaise sauce. Sauce was the highlight and whole meal was very yummy.. Ambience and service were both top notch. Highly recommend if you are in Armidale ..

We stopped in to have lunch in this cafe during our travels down south and it was such a cute cafe with amazing food and coffee! We both had the halloumi veggie stack and honestly it was one of the best wholesome meals we’ve ever had! (Photo added for reference but honestly it doesn’t do it justice compared to how good it tasted) (you can see in the corner my partner inhaled his meal before I got a proper pic haha) Definitely will be coming back when we are in town again!
