Great food, lovely staff, nice inside n outside seating. Reasonably priced.

I’ve been looking for a new coffee stop off after my morning swim, everywhere else seems to open very late, I have tried several places in this area and none have been very good, but today I stopped in here ( after it was recommended to me ) and I was not disappointed. Outside boasts a painted beach scene feature wall, the main outside area with giant blue umbrellas and it’s no fuss decor Interior and exterior with black metal table settings were simple but welcoming. I was greeted with a warm and cheery hello by a young lady as she took my order, I was also greeted with a big bold good morning from the kitchen by a very cheerfully spirited gentleman, he had a quick chat with me while I was ordering which was nice, I find that kind of thing a rarity these days, all staff here were genuinely pleasant, seemed happy to be working there and all had upbeat enthusiastic attitudes which was a very nice change and an added bonus and an excellent start to the day. My coffee ( cappuccino ) arrived quickly and it was pretty good, it could have been a touch warmer but it had a good thick creamy foam and a good flavour. My only complaint is that they use tons of hot chocolate mix ( chocolate and white sugar ) on top instead of cocoa. It’s like adding an additional spoon of sugar without even realising it, unfortunate for me as I didn’t want the extra ( hidden ) sugar. The meal I had was great. It came out quickly, it was hot, fresh and was presented pretty well. I ordered my usual of scrambled eggs, Turkish toast and added on some homemade baked beans which were really great. It’s nice to see someone making their own instead of using commercial tinned products. I throughly enjoyed my meal here. There is inside and outside seating options, open for breakfast and lunch 7 days week. 7am to 3pm weekdays and 7am to 1:30pm on weekends. The menu is made up of good old fashioned homemade style food, with nothing pretentious about it, there is a good amount of variable add ons so you can customise exactly what you want. The entire menu, breakfast and lunch has excellent budget friendly prices. It’s so good to finally find find a place like this, I didn’t think they existed anymore… but I found one here 👍🏻 Would I return… yes (I’ll definitely be returning) Would I recommend.. yes (for sure) Suitable seating for 2-4 at a table 22 outside seats 12 inside Mostly tables of 2 Additional items ( non menu items ) in an inside counter / cakes / slices etc.

I highly recommend Blue J’s Cafe. The food is always fresh and the service is genuinely lovely. You can tell the team enjoy what they do, and it really shows in both the quality of the food and the way they look after their customers. On top of that, the prices are very reasonable — which is rare these days. A fantastic local spot!

Awesome cafe in the heart of Toukley. Very kind and knowledgeable when it comes to gluten free options and fantastic tasty, value for money food. Staff are friendly and helpful. Such a lovely cafe, we will be back over and over again.

Lovely, friendly service. We bought takeaway breakfast here; they were great- nice and fresh! I was impressed by how they managed to pack the poached eggs on toast so nicely in a takeaway box, and it was delicious 😄 the staff were very helpful too.
