What people say
Hands down, one of my favourite cafes to eat at! 🌱💚 I eat vegan food, and this place not only provides many options, but it also just absolutely nails the flavours- both in food and in drinks/specialty coffee. I'd also describe the atmosphere here as an inviting retreat from the world. The people you come across here (both staff and customers) are just so warm and friendly. There is outdoor seating, so you can take your dogs (and we do), but bear in mind that it is a somewhat 'hole-in-the-wall' cafe. It doesn't have a lot of seating options, but it is an amazing location for small groups and cosy chats.
This place gets busy quickly. Somehow we timed it right and managed to get a seat outside before a crowd of people arrived with their dogs. The seats outside are very accommodating for dogs, or you can sit inside if without. The coffee is popular with the local crowd and there were a small range of sweet items but enough to curb the cravings. The hot chocolate was pretty delicious too.
This is a cute cafe in a little laneway. It's extremely popular - though I cannot see the attraction of sitting in a croweded walkway as school kids and commuters pass by in an endless stream as they struggle up to the train. I can see the attraction, however of getting a nice coffee from a nice cafe and I wanted this so much to be my cafe. This cafe serves a hip, vegan oriented menu and offers knick knacks for sale too. All that is lovely and I was ready to be a fan. But then I made the cardinal sin of ordering a skim flat white to take away and this seemed to offend the staff. Should I have ordered a plant-based milk? Or, though I paid handsomely for the coffee - did they want a tip for a takeaway? Who knows, I was written off by the too-cool-for-school counter staff. Having paid more than I was happy to pay, I waited in the laneway, dodging commuters, and after a while I received my order - lukewarm, small-sized takeaway cup, very mild-roast coffee (dare I say, weak?). I am used to getting coffee in the Sydney CBD where, if the barista doesn't greet you, and recall your first name and order from the get-go there are 20 other outlets within view who will give you better service. I think the almost total lack of competition and the devotion to "concept" here may be a problem. Clearly that's a personal view, as I have seen no lack of customers willing to have an "experience" here. I'm off to the EG service station on the highway, where the machine coffee costs $3.00 for a large and the staff are the loveliest, friendliest gentlement ever - perhaps I will see you there.
Located in a busy side alley near the station but tables free up quickly! kind staff and great food/coffee options for all dietary needs. Would recommend their matcha (as an avid matcha lover) + I particularly enjoyed their ras malai bircher muesli!
Having so many 5 stars review I came this Wed morning to try the coffee. Ordered brekkie combo $15 with Flat White n Egg Roll. Flat white is pretty Average, very weak, barely taste the coffee, too milky and texture is not right, bit disappointed. Hope it’s not due to take away, otherwise I would have it in a cup. Egg roll is a surprise, delicious, moist with all the right sauce, fresh ingredients, just yum! Will I come back ? Hmmmm,,,,
