Great quirky place. Sat outside on the verandah with our dog. So much to see around the property. Lunch was excellent battered flathead cooked perfectly and beef burger. Free camping out the back with access to toilets and showers. Wish we had known would have stayed there.

We camped here with our caravan overnight free of charge. The cartoon inspired pub was so different. It is apparently based on the cartoon sketches of Ken Maynard who did sketches for the Australian Post. It was built in 1987 originally as a family restaurant. Really worth while the visit.

We never stayed for a meal but it's been a long long time since our last visit. I would like to give a big shout out to the lovely lady who was serving us we sat at the bar and had the best conversation. The 2 blokes that were working were great too and 1 gave us this book about all the new developments that are going to happen which OMG will be amazing not to mention the employment it will bring in. I won't mention any of it as you will have to go look yourself. The only negative was not alot of alcoholic drinks on offer and no spirits. I'm ceoliac so gf beer would of tickled my tastebuds.

Despite what Google says the iconic pub is definitely not closed down. Called past for a look and ended up staying for a beer, dinner (great steak and very friendly staff… thank you!) and enjoyed the night in their free camping area. Absolutely recommend stopping in here for a taste of the local history!

Very unique place. Take your time to uncover the story behind the place and how it came to live from the head of his inventor into the real world. There is also a free campground right next to the pub. Well worth a visit.
