Great place to eat if your not too fussy or fancy! I ordered a fish burger and it was exactly that and no more, no chips or salad. Burger was quite small for the price. The waffle chips brought the meal home across the line, very tasty with the occasional wafting plumes of fuel from the marina next door.
How to ruin a piece of fish - visit this place and you will find out how it is done. A request for replacement was served in the same bowl with the first rubbery overcooked fish and poor excuse for a Mediterranean salad. It had to be frozen & cooked until the ice melted because it was so tough and flavorless it didn’t resemble the beautiful Blue Cod it should have been. For $33 I certainly expected better. Avoid this place unless you just want a juice and the view.
Fresh seafood and delicious menu. The oysters are fresh and sweet. You have to be early as unfortunately the fish of the day had run out by 1pm. The waiters are hospitable and accomadating. The marina and bush landscape as a backdrop was serene. Except for the seagull pooped moored boats could do with a clean!! The kitchen was a little slow and disorganised for our oysters came out well after our mains.
For a cafe right on the water and with all the possibilities of an outstanding experience, heavily disappointed. Just no care or love applied by the staff. Tables are left dirty, food is lazy and service is simply labour some. On arrival, numerous tables were left dirty. Moved the dirty plates to another adjoining table and even suggested / requested that the table be cleaned to which nothing happened, not even when meals were delivered. No seasoning on Chilli scrambled eggs and the poached eggs Benedict were way undercooked (inedible), mushrooms unseasoned, toast overcooked and almost inedible Wasn't even busy so no excuses really. 6 staff on and to be fair, felt like no one really have a crap at all. For the entire time I sat there, tables were not cleared. Lovely outlook but this place should have been packed and now I know why it wasn't.
The King Tide Café was so peaceful and grand. It was the best café by the water I have ever been to. The schnitzel burger with a pineapple slice, lettuce, cheese, red onion and mayonnaise sauce was so delicious. The texture of the chicken schnitzel was savoury and the pineapple slice was so fresh and yummy. I am giving the delicious schnitzel burger a trillion stars because it was the best burger I have ever tasted. Thank you so much for letting me and my family enjoy a fantastic lunch at the King Tide Café. Your global food critic, Layla
