Great tavern with excellent atmosphere being in an old building. Food was very good, I had a pork belly dish from the specials menu. I remember driving past the building when it was deserted and derelict with a high fence around it and wishing that it could be fixed up someday. We sat out on the front balcony.
Alroy Tavern is a beautiful old homestead that was built in the late 1880s and renovated and opened as a tavern in 2006. The food is very good, although a bit on the upper end of the price range. Plenty of indoor and outdoor areas to dine and unwind as well as a saly fenced children's play area behind the property.
First time to dine at this establishment recently, and although the food was overall nice and tasty, I'd have to say the staff were some of the poorest and disorganised at customer service I've ever seen. The food was very slow to be served. When we asked about when certain dishes were coming, the waitress was rude and dismissive. We arrived at 12pm and didn't leave until nearly 3pm. Luckily there was a large playground nearby to keep the kids occupied.
Daughter turned 12 today and wanted Steak for dinner. Decided to go to The Woodstock Hotel as they've been spending heaps on advertising. Couldn't sit anywhere other than sports bar and the music was so loud we left to come back to our favorite place. Walked in and was warmly greeted by the owner, sat anywhere we want steak was amazing! service was amazing, atmosphere was amazing so not gonna bother going anywhere else. They also gave my daughter free ice block for her birthday ❤️❤️❤️
A great place for lunch or dinner. Been there several times and again today, the food there never disappoints and you can either enjoy the outdoors dining or indoors in the comfort of air conditioning. The bruschetta was exceptional is its balance: the acidity of the tomatoes, the richness of the olive oil, and the crunch of the toast all work together seamlessly. It's a dish that satisfies without overwhelming. The burger patty was juicy and seasoned just right. Topped with fresh tomato, lettuce and beet root the layers came together in a balanced mouth watering symphony of flavours. Then there was the chips-golden thick cut, and fried to that ideal point of crispiness on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Lightly salted and served hot they were a perfect combination to the burger.
