Disability/Accessibility Review I recently visited The George Tavern (East Maitland/Greenhills) and was impressed with its accessibility, overall welcoming atmosphere, and decent lunch deals. For those needing accessible parking, I noted two clearly marked handicapped parking spots, which is a huge plus. Getting into the venue was also easy thanks to a well-maintained accessible ramp, making it smooth for wheelchairs or anyone with mobility aids. They also have a dedicated disability bathroom, which is incredibly helpful. Inside, the open-plan layout of both the main bar and sports bar area is fantastic. There's plenty of space to move around comfortably without feeling cramped, which was greatly appreciated. The outdoor area is also great, offering a relaxed space to enjoy, and I was pleased to discover another outdoor courtyard as well. They have a huge bistro/eatery with ample seating and a variety of food options. I noted their lunch deals, which offer good value, making it an appealing spot for a midday meal if you're looking for an economical option. Overall, The George Tavern is a solid choice for a relaxed meal or a drink with friends, and they've clearly made an effort to be accessible for everyone, particularly those with mobility challenges.
Visited today with some of my colleagues and this was my first time eating here. The venue was clean and nice atmosphere. The staff in the bistro were very friendly and extremely attentive. Whilst leading us to our table the young lady asked me how my day was so far, just an extra nice personal touch I noticed as opposed to just seating us like most places do. Food was tasty and enjoyable. Overall we had a nice lunch out and would recommend to others and, would return myself. Keep up the great service 👍🏻 The only thing I found disappointing was the cocktail list on website differed to one at the bar, so couldn’t get the amaretto sour I had planned to purchase (I did ask the young man behind the bar if they had amaretto, to which he replied “I don’t think so”)
Fantastic refurbishment. Massive establishment. Nice bars and various areas to find your vibe Great menu and most welcoming. Comfortable dining room with nice aurora.Suitable for large groups. Easy ordering from your table. I started eating before I took pics so excuse the lack lustre pics but the food was so fresh, cooked to perfection, flavourful. Good prices and serve size.
I am currently sitting writing this review as I am eating my dinner as I could not wait to share to the googleverse how AMAZING the food was! I had the crispy pork belly with all the veg and the hubby had the crispy skin snapper and veg.. All I can say is WOW. Truly. And the service was top notch. The gentleman that seated and served us was polite, accomodating and friendly. We will definitely be coming back for sure! And with extra friends and family!
The steak sandwich was disgusting the Turkish bread was hard as a rock, my client asked for a soft bun due to no teeth and the head chef said no. The guy serving was lovely and tried but the chef was rude and did not see one smile, just shaking her head. The salad was mostly carrot and half a small tomato. See the photos you can see how hard the bread is!!! Waste of money
