EDIT 31-01-26 I'm sorry but I have to take a star away Last night a few of us come to eat, It was A very hot day, We went into the the dinning room which was packed But NO Air Con turned on It was literally felt like it was 2-3 degrees cooler inside then out side and it was very hot out side, Sitting down inside waiting for a friend We were sweating We ended up leaving and eating somewhere cooler And it's not the first time this has happened. If your looking for somewhere cool to let on a hot day This isn't the place. Please watch out for kids. Some parents should not be parents, Been here a few times now To watch kids running around jumping on tables and chairs, Rolling all over the floor being extremely noisy, It's a Pub No place for kids to behave this way Last time a baby was crawling into the other bar and his sister who would of been about 3-4 walking in to carry the baby back, Both had no shoes on Mum was on the pokies Dad was on his phone, The poor guy in the kitchen almost tripped over the babys on the floor as he was clearing tables He had A a big stack of plates in his hands and couldn't see At the last minute he managed to step over the baby But this could of ended extremely badly What if he dropped them on the heavy plates on that baby? Again I will say This is a Pub, Not only are pubs floors no place for kids or anyone to be running around bearfoot, due to the fact they are extremely dirty, But it's a place were glasses get dropped and smashed probably almost daily And this isn't the only time we have witnessed such behaviour, Another time The kids were running around screaming while the mums were to into themselves Gasbaing One little girl run into one of the bar staff who had a bunch of glasses in her arm No respect for other paying customers If you think this is an acceptable way for your kids to behave go eat in a park or a place where kids can run around The bar staff do or say nothing, If one of these kids got hurt do to someone tripping over them, or dropping plates or glasses on them, then who ever done has to live with that guilt, And the irresponsible parents would be the first to get upset and blame others for their lack of parenting No paying customer should have to deal and put up with someone elses noisy child, running around their table while trying to eat. We use to come here for lunch 10-15yrs ago and it was great then First time back here after moving back to the area And This Is Now Our Go To Pub What a great place Bistro, Bar Staff And even security 5 stars+ Atmosphere 5 stars, Food 5 Stars+ Terrific value for money. When we come for dinner the place was packed, We were easily expecting half hour or longer wait time, and the lady in front of us ordered alot we had our food within 10 minutes (Unlike another place in the area where I waited 45 minutes for a salad and fish and chips and we were the only one's there) This bistro staff should be proud of themselves and the food was cooked to perfection. The bar staff actually seem like they want to be there And interact with you It's not fake service like alot of other places in the area We could even have a joke with security he is such a lovely and professional guy Expect alot more of us This place is Top Notch
Cambridge Tavern at Fairfield (Ibis Capital) is easily one of the best value pubs I’ve been to. I ordered the lamb meal and was seriously impressed — three large lamb chops, a generous serving of chips, a big fresh salad, and a soup bowl full of sauce, all for just $24. On top of that, their happy hour runs from 12pm to 5pm, Monday to Saturday, with $6 schooners on tap. You honestly can’t beat that. Great food, great prices, and excellent value all around. Highly recommend giving it a try — you won’t regret it.
Damien and Sam provided amazing service during my time at the Cambridge Tavern. They were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout my visit. Their excellent customer service truly enhanced my experience, and I would highly recommend the Cambridge Tavern because of them.
As a local I come here for the Steak with my kids. Well portioned meals, will definitely fill you up. I would recommend to give the Steak a try. In my opinion a great place to visit for Steak if you live locally.
I have not been to the Cambridge Tavern Bistro in many years. It use to be my go to when it was mainly a chinese restaurant prior to renovations. I was pleasantly surprised by the food. Such good value and large portions. So very good value for money. My partner and I both had steaks, chips, salad and a side of gravy. Chips and steak cooked to perfection. The salad was a good size portion (not just garnish). The menu appears to be the usual pub grub (schnitzel, fish n chips, steaks, garlic bread etc) so you cant go wrong. We got there early and glad we did as it became very busy. If you want a good pub bistro meal, then I can recommend going there for lunch or dinner.
