Stumbled across this lovely spot on a country drive. Worthy of being a destination in itself. Great cafe. Stylish. Good food - especially the corn fritters, the scones and jam are also lovely. Definitely not crowded so a nice change from some of the other southern highlands venues. Afterward a browse though the nearby op shop to partially work off some of the lunch. Nice!
Excellent! The best carrot cake of my life and delicious iced coffees. So spotlessly clean with beautiful decor. Such a great vibe sitting outside watching the world go by slowly. Can’t wait to go to pizza night on a Friday if we can get a table!! Bravo Jess and Scott!
I had a lovely vegetarian pizza a couple of weeks ago and decided to have another one this week but was disappointed. The pizza was a bit bitter and I was getting the taste of soy oil. Think it may have been the olives used, bottled in soy oil, while the previous pizza had brined olives. Unfortunately soy oil and I do not agree. Apart from that all the food has been delicious.
The Big Breakfast is wonderfully delicious! Lovely spinach and Mushroom sautéed in garlic. Baked beans in a spiced and fragrant tomato sauce. Crispy bacon and thin sausages that are just the right complementary addition to the fresh poached eggs and sourdough toast and a nicely cooked fresh tomato to finish. Bloody excellent!
I always judge a cafe on the way they make a toastie. If you can’t put ham and cheese between bread and toast it, you’ve got some work to do. But that might have been the best toastie I’ve ever had. House made sour dough, thick smoked ham, generous cheese, toasted until golden and crispy, and sprinkled with salt. Chef knows what he’s doing 🙏🏼
