What people say
Really pleasant drive into the back hills of Kiama downs. Small, shaded walks. Some areas of the dam accessible taking path past the lookout. Can imagine at the right hour would be good birdwatching
Agree its not 'spectacular', but still worth the short drive from Kiama and a very peacefull escape to country. Take the kids and the dog.
Beautiful forest walking tracks all around here and such a great place for a picnic or relaxing day. So many species of trees and so accessible. Well worth a visit.
Yes I went here yesterday and I was looking for Cygnets for I could not find any on lake Illawara and I met a fishers Officer yesterday and he told me where to find them and he was right and when I arrived there was a council worker from Kiama and he told me where to find them ! And I got lost 😂 lol I loved 🥰 the drive in to the Dam 🦫 and I will have to take my wife next time and she loves the old houses ! And I was wondering where that road leads from for I was driving the other way when I was driving just before Lockdown to Kiama Downs and they have a good Bakery at Kiama Downs big Cream Buns and great pies and cakes and coffee if you love ❤️ these things and I just found out we could have seen the Cygnets at Haywards bay !
Nice place for a walk in nature, but you won’t get very close to the dam. The weeds and grass are above my head down near the dam now. But if you’re looking for a nice easy walk in the country side than it’s very nice :)
