If you're scouting the north east of Lake Macquarie for easy and free outdoor leisure activities, this may be a place to check out. Green Point Reserve boasts many kilometres of well maintained walking paths that are both wheelchair accessible and good for families. Along its many trails are several viewpoints and seats where you can sit back and enjoy views of Lake Macquarie, as well as picnic tables for those BYO family days. The path also leads to a couple lookouts that provide views from Swansea all the way over to Toronto. Only downside to this reserve is if you are a dog person. Dogs are not allowed in this area, even if on a lead. Highly recommended area for easy walking, picnics, and days out with a young family.
Reserve Park is a peaceful place for a relaxing walk with beautiful water access. Shower and Public toilets are available. Great spot for swimming, fishing, boating, listening to birds, and enjoying a simple family picnic. A nice place to unwind — just remember to respect nature and keep it beautiful for everyone. 🌿 🌿
Gorgeous lakeside reserve with a great concrete pathway for walking, running, cycling. It goes along the lake for lovely views, and then the path heads up into the parklands, winding through the trees. It’s a really lovely park. There are public toilets available. I would recommended exploring this area.
A really beautiful and quiet walk next to the lake. The walking path is lined with trees providing lots of shade so it's a great place to come to anytime of the day. Lots of grass areas and picnic tables so perfect to lounge around and read a book. The walking path connects to Sea Eagle lookout (absolutely beautiful) which has a slight elevated climb which shouldn't be much trouble for most people. Only downside is you can't walk your dogs here so furry animals miss out on the beautiful view.
My favourite spot in Newcastle , great walk / run spot to go , right on the water with trees all around , went for a swim today , water 💧💦 was excellent, this is a great spot.✅🙂Still. an excellent place to go for a walk or run and easily loose 2 or 3 hours in Green Point reserve and Eagle 🦅 point lookout.
