Coastal Brasserie Malabar is a pub in Malabar. We don't yet have enough signals to confirm whether dogs are allowed. It's best to check with the venue before visiting with your dog. Just 750m away, Pioneers Park is a great nearby park for a walk with your dog.
We went to have an afternoon snack on Saturday. It was quite busy and we were quite lucky to get the window table. The view is always beautiful. Their service was good and prompt. The good thing is they always open late. The muffin and coffee were great. Every time we come to Malabar beach, this is always our favorite stop for coffee.
We visited this place on 29 December at 14:50 and ordered two wraps and iced mochas. First, the staff member at the takeaway counter forgot about the second wrap, and we ended up waiting at least 30 minutes, even though the wraps were already pre-cooked and only needed to be heated. I usually don’t leave negative reviews, even when service is poor, but this situation was much more serious. I am allergic to avocado, and before ordering I clearly asked the guy at the counter whether the wrap contained avo. He double-checked and confirmed that it did not. Unfortunately, after the third bite, I discovered avocado inside the wrap (see photo). This is extremely dangerous, I could have ended up in hospital.
It’s a cute little cafe with plenty of seats!!! Very pleasant lookout to the Malabar beach, airy with big windows and nice beach themed decorations. Certainly good vibe with local people. They sell ice cream for kids and small pastries to go as well. We ordered house soda, chocolate milkshake, hot cakes and big breakfast. Drinks were very sweet for me and a bit small in size, but definitely refreshing. The hot cakes were pretty to start and delicious. Fluffy pancakes with maple syrup and ricotta cheese, well balanced in sweetness and slight saltiness. The big breakfast was standard, but on the good side because it doesn’t look like soaked in oil, each item was cooked perfectly keeping it’s own natural flavour than oil and herbs. The service was good as well, staff was friendly and helpful, fast enough service. I would definitely go back there again, to enjoy such a good vibe and food.
Went this morning for breakfast the food and coffee is good. This morning my truffle eggs had too much pepper in it and wasn’t as nice as it normally is. Hash browns are a bit odd very small. My daughter’s oatmeal was very dry. Music was to loud this morning you couldn’t have a decent conversation or even hear yourself order. Bit disappointed today overall. Not enough staff on today as the cafe was busy and you had to wait a bit to get served. Some dishes bit overpriced.
We’ve come to Malabar Beach a few times and love it but this was our first time checking out this café. We dined in and were blown away! One of my favourite Aussie café breakfast experiences ever. Between us we had (can’t remember exact item names): - Two brekkie burgers — best brekkie burger I’ve tasted in over five years in Australia, fully loaded and everything was so fresh, from the hash brown to the cheese slice and everything in between. - The mushroom on sourdough — amazing whipped herbed ricotta, perfect with the mushrooms and rocket, and ordered bacon on the side which was perfectly crispy but not too crispy - Ricotta and berry hot cakes — I loved how the berry compote had a bit of spice - cinnamon? - paired well with the ricotta and everything was sweet but not too sweet! Great with the fresh fruit too. - The babyccino was generous and the mocha was sooo good, nice dark chocolate taste and hot, which made it last longer! (Important when you’re a parent with lots of interruptions from bubba and toddler 😉) I can’t speak to the other drinks but there were no complaints in our group! Service was friendly and quick as well. We’ll definitely be back!
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
