Wylde Bar

Overpriced average quality bar food took 45 minutes to arrive. This Bar is within the View Hotel near the station. Its food service is shared with the kitchen for the restaurant - hence the very long delay. We went there on the basis of a photo showing lovely tapas style food, but without the actual menu, as it said it was a changing menu. When we showed up it was the most basic basic bar food. Our grilled fish was $36 for two small pieces of fish and some chips. The club sandwich was passable, nothing more. The bartender was so nice and apologetic, but we'd long finished our drinks before the food came close to arriving. Just a poor set up overall, and totally not serious about the food going with the bar.

Had some friends staying at the hotel for the weekend so met them at the hotel bar we were served by a really friendly barman from the uk who made the effort to make our experience as welcoming as possible. When we weren’t sure what cocktail to order he happily just asked for a random word and made a few gin cocktails that were really nice we also ordered the meat and cheese board along side a few drinks.

The maitre D Thomas is a gem !! Great customer service and professionalism off the roof. Was stopping by to have a gin and tonic and all of the sudden sitting on my hand was a special cocktail he created for Vivid?? Amazing ambiance and amazing staff !! Would tell my friend to come through !!

The new dark curtains are too heavy for me. No discount at all for those booked in. The wool covers on the seats very 60's and not necessary. Hard to keep clean I should imagine. Tacky.
