We visited this pub's courtyard dog friendly area for a birthday celebration today, after we were here once for a lunch and really liked it, as the atmosphere itself was lovely — warm, welcoming, and a great spot for a get‑together. Unfortunately, our recent visit to The Harold didn’t quite live up to the lovely setting The customer service felt a bit inattentive, especially when it came to clearing tables. We were there from around 1:30–5:00 and our table wasn’t cleared until close to when we were leaving, and only after we asked the staff. We had also asked the team to put our birthday cake in the fridge. After lunch, when we asked for the cake, it was brought back in the same paper bag without asking if we needed plates or cutlery. It was difficult to find staff at the bar, and it took about 10 minutes to get 10 small plates and couldn't get any forks,so we used the forks from the cutlery sleeves, which was a bit disappointing, especially since we had mentioned at the time of booking that it was a birthday celebration. We also ordered multiple roast, which unfortunately wasn’t cooked very well. It’s a nice pub and the setting is great, but a bit more attention to service and food quality would make a big difference. I hope this feedback can be taken constructively and help improve the experience for future guests.

My favourite local pub. Dog friendly as well! Plenty of seating and there's a covered outdoor area too where dogs are allowed. Daily specials if you're stuck on what to cook for dinner. Staff are always friendly and the pub is always neat and tidy.

Lovely pub that's HUGE, especially for the Inner West. Great for groups, there's seating downstairs, outside, upstairs and out on the balcony. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ on my pub rating scale. For a pub, I want a nice place to sit, a friendly bartender, some good options on tap, and descent food (that includes veggie options) This place ticks the boxes. And the balcony seating is a real bonus. Kid-friendly as well. We went on a Friday night and it was pretty busy. With kiddos, we waited a bit longer than we would have liked for our food, but ai think we just happened to place our order behind an even bigger group. Newly renovated.

We had the $19.90 Sirloin Steak special today for lunch & it was excellent, cooked perfectly, juicy, generous & abundant portion of chips. The two lads serving were attentive & the service was great. We had our dog with us & asked for the fan to be turned on & it was no issue at all .. very good food, friendly service, great job 👍🏻

This is my local, but the service from the staff seems quite transactional. I don’t feel particularly welcome here for someone who regularly turns up. I pretty much get the treatment of stranger with no warmth whatsoever. About the food, normally it is decent pub fare but on my most recent visit, it seems like they have bumped up the price for their daily special for a sirloin steak with fries to $19.90 and have lowered the quality to a thin and cheaper looking steak. Disappointing.
