Generally pub lunches are great spots to catch up and this venue exceeded my expectations. The decor is dated but brings an early to late 90's feel. It's very clean and nicely laid out. I found underground parking from the Ryde Road entrance, however there is off street parking very close by. I entered from the side entrance from the lift and was met with the bistro bar. Staff were very friendly and quick to serve our drinks and we sat on the padded seating to the far right of the bar. There is an outdoor area with wheel chair access to the higher podium and I imagine a great spot for lazy Sunday afternoon drinks and watching tennis or cricket on a big screen. Great selection of pub food and we selected share plates. Cerviche, Zuchini Flowers and Calamari. I'd have to say I'm a cerviche coniseur having travelled around some countries in South America and also being polynesian so if you're a fan of raw fish then this is a great intro. On a scale of 1-10, I'd rate it a 6, only because I'm a fan of a far simplier version and personally some of the garnishes didn't suit my palate. It doesn't need to be too flash to be nice, diced red and green peppers, cucumber, spring onions, Lemon, coconut milk and mullet. The zuchini flowers were delicious and the calamari was soft and melts in your mouth. We stayed for 4.5 hours as it was a long overdue catch up and I was tempted with fried ice cream and chocolate sauce. I've had better but it was a nice way to finish lunch. I've given the food 4 stars based on my own personal tastes and likings but I still highly recommend this place and will definitely come back again.

Second visit January 2026 - again, this pub delivers. Plenty of staff, great service, the chef’s special 220g rump with garlic prawns ($42, $30 for steak only) hit the stop. Perfectly cooked medium rare. - perfect for our large group. Original visit: Best pub experience had recently. Hunters Hill is lucky to have this pub. Steak special $38 was great. Rocket salad was great. Chicken Parmi was reportedly great. Can’t wait to try more.

The Hunters Hill Hotel is easily one of the best spots in the area for a social gathering! We came here to watch the footy and the atmosphere was spot on. The outdoor lounge is absolutely amazing ,it feels cozy but still has that great energy you want for a game. It’s the perfect place to grab a few drinks and settle in with a couple of friends. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a chill but lively vibe

Don’t waste your time ordering any decent drinks here. They somehow ran out of oranges for an Aperol spritz — and trust me, it tasted as disappointing as it sounds. They also served an Old Fashioned with a pile of ice cubes, so it was watered down almost instantly. For a place that looks so nice, the drinks are an absolute letdown.
