I’m fairly picky when it comes to dog beaches. The water was very clean and clear. Beach wasn’t all that busy and the beach sort of separates into another beach so you can keep away from other dogs if needed. Sufficient parking at the boat ramp plus toilet facilities are available. There is a smaller carpark closer to the runway viewing pier along the beach.

I’ve tried a few different beaches now around the botany area in the ongoing quest to find somewhere new to walk the dogs. Foreshore is probably my favourite. Although it’s dogs on leads only, it doesn’t stop them having fun and running into the water. In terms of location and photography this spot is a bit of a hidden gem; with the ability to get shots of the planes taking off and also the busy non stop workings of port botany with the container shops being unloaded/loaded 24/7 - there’s plenty to film and photograph day or night. With plenty of parking too overall it’s a cool spot to visit even if you don’t have a boat for the ramp! Four stars only because it’s not the kind of beach you’d swim from or relax on…despite being a lot cleaner than other botany beaches the water still has pollution

Well maintained shared (bike/pedestrian) path. Probably not a good place to swim. Keep your dog on a leash - they use 1080 baits in the area. On the way to Penrhyn lookout is a good place to view the container dance. Plenty places to fish and people fishing, but I would NOT eat anything caught around these parts.
