Cruising Yacht Club of Australia is a waterside dog-friendly pub in Darling Point with outdoor space. Around 1300 metres away, Seven Shillings Beach is also a great nearby beach for a swim with your dog.
Dogs are welcome in the outdoor beer garden — let staff know at sign-in and they will arrange direct access via the side gate. Note: guests who live within 5km must be members; guests from outside 5km must sign in.
Great experience at the CYCA before heading out to the water. Fiona at the front desk was super friendly and gave me a rundown of the club as it was my first time there. The club is modern and clean, recently went through renovations and it shows. Bathrooms are great, the main seating areas are comfy. There is indoor and outdoor seating all overlooking the harbour and boats. We had breakfast at the cafe while there - great egg and bacon roll and soy latte was solid. All up a lovely morning 🛥
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff are genuinely attentive, friendly, and professional, you really feel taken care of without it ever feeling forced. The food, though, is the real star. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavour, clearly showing the skill, care, and creativity of the chefs. You can tell there’s a lot of thought behind each plate, and the balance of flavours was spot on. It’s the kind of meal you keep talking about even after you leave. A huge compliment to the kitchen team, the chefs truly deserve recognition for the quality and consistency of the food. And equally, well done to the front-of-house staff for making the whole experience so smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back!
Great place for eats, drinks, and rub elbows with sailing legends. Happy hour is where the fun starts 🍻
I was going to have lunch with a friend at the rolex Sydney Hobart Bar & Dining, but extensive renovations are being done at the moment. Apparently according to their official website the rolex bar and restaurant is still open. But we decided not to eat here due to the extreme noise and loss of the views over Rushcutters Bay. The rolex bar which serves as the main dining and bar area at CYCA, is open every day with set hours for breakfast and all-day dining. The club is generally accessible within those hours, though visitor access may be restricted by NSW's Registered Clubs Act if you live within 5 km of the club—unless you’re with a member, are a member of another registered club, or are attending for a sailing event .
Located at 1 New Beach Road, Darling Point, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺. I have been here several times because the group I sail with leaves and returns to this Marina so it is easier and more convenient to grab a bite from the club. I have no problems with the prices and the wait staff are accommodating and friendly. The food is lovely and flavourful. My issue is the fact that the club won’t take cash, only debit or credit card even though cash is legal tender, but still charge a surcharge on each transaction. I understood the not taking cash through lockdown but there’s really no excuse now, especially if you’re going to charge a surcharge on the only option you’re offering to pay. The club itself is very welcoming and beautifully decorated. I do have a lovely time when I come. Aside from the ‘NO CASH’ factor, it’s a great club and have always enjoyed coming back. It’s also great that it’s a 🐶 friendly club. It’s wonderful to come to the club that the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race starts at. Thumbs Up! 👍👍👍
