A perfect place in the Gosford area for a catch-up with friends. We all enjoyed a lovely al fresco lunch — the homemade salmon fish cakes and vegetarian ciabatta were delicious. Friendly, attentive service from the manager (I think his name is Rash-an) and easy free council parking opposite made it even better. Highly recommend The Point at East Gosford.
Been before and was all good. Not so today. It took 4 phone attempts to get a booking, went to answer machine. Left name and number as instructed. No one rang back. Tried to book on line for 5 people for lunch at 12p.m. kept dropping back to start of booking process. Got through on last phone attempt, having vowed if I didn't get through this time, we'd go elsewhere. Turned up today, ordered our meals. First fish and chip meal arrived 5 mins after, 15 minute wait, next 2 meals of corn fritters arrived. Full half hour later, my husbands fish arrived. Another half hour and my Prawn Fettuccine arrived (a whole hour). First 3 meals finished by the time mine arrived and they were on dessert!! We ordered at noon, they'd run out of chicken and leek pies, run out of grilled fish, so choices had to be changed at till holding up everyone queuing to order. Need to lift your game guys.
My husband and I decided to try this café, despite both having had poor experiences at their Avoca Beach location, but unfortunately this visit was also disappointing. Shortly after we sat down, a staff member — who appeared to be the owner — removed our cutlery and napkin and gave them to another table without checking whether we still needed them, and no replacement was offered. Although the coffee was good, our order was incorrect. My husband received my almond cappuccino and I received his full‑cream mocha, which could have caused a serious issue if I had a reaction to the dairy. The food was only average, and the bread wasn’t toasted — it had simply been warmed through. Breakfast was delivered without any acknowledgment or warmth, and the overall service felt abrupt and unwelcoming. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was one of the poorest café experiences we’ve had. The venue has potential, but the service, attitude, and food quality need significant improvement. I would recommend choosing another café.
Service was fantastic. My partner and I like the little touches, table service, water on the table proper salt and pepper etc etc so they did really well in that area. Sadly my poached eggs where very over cooked. My partner had scrambled eggs and they where a little flavourless. Presentation of the food was excellent and coffee was good. I will return and give them another shot at poaching eggs lol If I wanted terrible poached eggs i would do them myself 😆
A great change - addition to the Food Cafe Offering on the pointy end of the East Gosford Shopping strip. This is finally the kind of cafe we have been waiting for after 2 other tenants gave up.Its fresh, warm & welcoming , plenty of affordable Brekkie & Food options and very efficient and friendly team. This will be my GO TO Cafe for TakeAway coffee & weekend Brekkie meets.I forgot to take a photo, but see for yourself. Its a really nice place. Enjoy & Good Luck to the owners of the Cafe.
