This was a very disappointing experience, given the existing positive reviews, including one in Time Out. The front of the premises shows absolutely no indication that you have the right place; you can only work out that you are at the right place by looking at the street numbers on either side, similar to Earl's Juke Joint in King Street. Inside, the decor is similarly "juke joint", resembling Earl's, but with the addition of several "booths" that would sit four to six people in a comfortable arrangement for conversation (see photo). Behind the bar are two classic-style loudspeakers built into the bar structure (see photo), but the sound comes from small modern enclosures elsewhere. The classic drivers seem to be purely for decoration. There is a shelf full of vinyl records, a cassette tape deck, and an amplifier, but no sign of anyone using them when we were there. Sadly, our cocktails were slow to come despite three staff and only about 7 customers. My Four-Pillars dry martini was dilute and dull. You will get better cocktails at Earl's or the Fortunate Son just down the road, and they will cost less... we paid A$52 for a martini and a cocktail off the menu. The staff did not show a lot of energy or enthusiasm, and seemed rather inexperienced. It is generally fun to watch the bar staff at work in similar bars in Enmore... but not so much here.

Dark and cozy atmosphere, perfect retro feel. Cocktails are very bougie, slightly pricey, but well crafted.

This is such a nice bar. Mega whiskey collection. Pizzas available from over the road at Epic. It has the charm of Baxters with a nice window out to Enmore Road. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I think it might be my new favourite. And great AC.

Thanks Tynan for a tantalising taste bud experience. If you want to try something different and have a good yarn with the staff look no further!

10/10 service and staff were warm and friendly, the cocktails are the best! We tried all the sours and they were all unique and delicious. The decor is cosy, bathrooms are cool and retro. Also… try the midori splice it was too good.
