Best food in blackheath! Catered for gluten and dairy free easily with the chefs buffet and it was amazing - fresh and light vege flavours and then very filling duck. Chef made me extra special gluten and dairy free dishes and they were delicious! Book in and enjoy!!!

Celebrated our Wedding Anniversary here and we intend to return soon. City high street dining in Black Heath ( Blue Mountains) the food was so well cooked and prepared. A highlight was the duck in a homemade cherry sauce with an asian twist. Each of the dishes were well balanced and refined no overwhelming sauces, which gave opportunity to appreciate the chef’s intention for you to enjoy the sauce whilst also tasting the wholesome fresh vegetables and meat in each dish. Dessert does not disappoint either. The chocolate mouse with Pistachio pannacota is a must. You will be well looked after by the attentive staff Maeva, Kesh and Aman.

After looking at a couple casual dinning restaurants around the area i was so happy we chose ATES. The food here is so fresh and incredibly delicious. I had everything aside from one or two dishes. Don't usually write reviews but this restaurant, staff and ambience just had be appreciated fully.

Food was outstanding - very thoughtful and well-executed. The duck dish was an unexpected highlight and easily the best duck we’ve ever had: crispy skin, tender flesh, and perfectly rendered fat. It came with a simple berry sauce that didn’t look like much but tasted amazing. Portion-wise, our two boys were very happy sharing the half duck. The other dishes were also excellently done, with a great balance of fat, salt, acidity, and texture. Bread would go well to soak up the beautiful sauces. We highly recommend this place, and reservations are strongly advised.

Hands down the best duck I’ve ever had. Was ready to lick the plate ! We got the tasting menu and it gave us a good selection of food from the menu - I was hoping that some of the more seafood based items would be in the tasting menu but we will be back to try them if we’re up here.
