New Ivanhoe Hotel

Dogs welcome
Dog rating

Updated 19 May 2026

The New Ivanhoe Hotel has a grassed beer garden out the front with a mix of tables and umbrellas. It's a simple, open space that works well for sitting outside with a dog.

It's a popular stop for visitors to the area and has a steady flow of people, especially during busier periods.

Dog rules

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor beer garden.

Please keep dogs leashed, calm, and under control for the comfort of all patrons.

The grassy beer garden is nicest for pets but Blackheath is very cold in winter and there are no heaters, so pick a sunny day!! Food is good and there are a few nice dog parks near by, our favourite being the old air strip.

Nice cosy pub with a dog friendly beer garden out front with grass that's well maintained and umbrellas for shade. Can't go past the steak sandwich!!

This is a great spot for pub food and drinks. We dined on a Tuesday night and the restaurant was packed, booming with customers. This is walk up service type establishment, which proved to be very efficient. Our party of 4 shared a lovely bottle of local Shiraz. My chicken schnitzel was crispy and delicious. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals. This local landmark is done in art deco style, it was a fun evening out for all. Service was great and parking was easy and free.
