Flora and Ritchie Roberts Reserve has a large grassy off-leash area that leads directly onto a sandy stretch with access to the Curl Curl lagoon. The water is shallow enough to be a good introduction for dogs new to swimming, and the whole area connects to the boardwalk through to Freshwater, making for a longer walk if you want it. It's a social spot — joggers, other dog owners, and beachgoers share the space, but there's enough room for everyone.

This is a fantastic spot for dogs and their owners! The park features a huge grassy area where dogs can run free off-leash, and it leads directly onto a sandy stretch that gives your pup easy access to the lagoon for a swim and a cool-off on hot days. The location is unbeatable—right near the beach, with beautiful views and plenty of space for dogs to socialize, play, and really let loose. It’s a popular spot for local dog owners, and you’ll often see lots of happy pups enjoying themselves. There are a few things to keep in mind if you visit: • Dog Temperament: Not every dog is as friendly or well-socialized as yours. I’ve heard of several incidents where dogs have been injured, so it’s important to keep a close eye on your pet and be ready to step in if play gets too rough. • Water Quality: The lagoon water isn’t the cleanest—pollution is a known issue here. After heavy rain, the water quality can get especially poor, so it’s a good idea to limit your dog’s time in the water or rinse them off after swimming. • Cleanliness: Unfortunately, not everyone picks up after their dogs, so watch your step and be prepared to clean up after your own pet. There could be more accessible bins, but it’s always best to bring your own bags just in case. Overall, this is a great place for dogs to have fun and make new friends. Just be mindful of the environment and other dogs to ensure everyone has a positive experience!

Beautiful spot for a dog walk! You can have your dogs off leash, and everyone is very respectful, dogs are all well behaved and the walk is very picturesque for the owners, you can finish it at the curl curl surf life saving club cafe for a coffee! Great location! No toilets until you get to club, tapa for dogs to drink from scattard and a few doggie poo bag points.

This is a great place to visit with your dogs. It was our first time at the reserve and first beach day for the dogs. It was especially a good introduction to the water, not too deep and all the other dogs were just as friendly. We would be there everyday if we lived closer.
