What people say
I tried to be open minded since this is Sydney and there are few green spaces for people to enjoy, but the bar is seriously on the floor. The place is rife with weeds, as evidenced by another reviewer who posted thickets of travellers palm 3 years ago, they still haven’t been removed. Signage looks like it was placed in 80s and never updated. Information is scribbled out and scratched over. Trees are graffitied over… plenty of litter around… Don’t get me wrong, it was still beautiful — in the sense of it being a small strip of nature that has been allowed to persist alongside urban development. But the condition of the place demonstrates poor commitment by the local government to maintain and preserve what few green space/s they are responsible for. Green spaces improve wellbeing and foster connections with, and a sense of responsibility for, the natural environment. This is especially so important in cities where those connections have become far removed. In the future, I hope the council (or whoever allocates funding for this place) will value that.
It is a hidden gem tucked away in the middle of suburbia. Peaceful and a great place to relax. Lots of steps though so need a level of fitness.
Hidden from the urban area , this is a very comfy walk , cycling would be difficult . A small gully can be witnessed and many native plants of Australia.
After googling “Randwick parks” I was delightfully led to this lovely little nature walk surrounded by nothing but trees, bugs, a wooden path, and lovely ambience. Unfortunately it was pretty hot that day so my partner and I were sweating our buttocks off. It was a pretty nice walk for sure, and there were lots of places where you could just pause and stare at for a moment and continue with the journey. Definitely a must for nature lovers. The wooden path is mostly narrow, where it could fit 2 people if they turned over to their sides, but there are also a few resting spots with benches and a wider space for those who want to chill out for a bit.
An amazing nature reserve in the heart of Randwick. Boardwalk stretches right through the reserve and is in excellent condition. The sounds of the trees and the river soothe and rejuvenate and I highly recommend going here to visit, to study or just to enjoy.
