I cannot thank the team at Catalina enough for providing what was truly an unforgettable experience. We arrived spontaneously straight from the tennis courts at Royal Sydney—in casual tennis gear—around 2,3 PM. Despite our casual appearance and the late hour, the staff welcomed us with open arms and friendly faces. This was a milestone day for my good friend. The food was easily the best I’ve had in NSW. We enjoyed everything! To name a few we had: The SA squid and royal red prawns, coral trout crudo, fresh oysters, the Sydney Rock lobster risotto, snapper, and the incredible broccolini mix. We even had a dessert cocktail that tasted like a cheesecake—only better! The $300 bottle of wine was so splendid we had to order a second. Every single staff member, from the bar to the floor, was polite, kind, and went out of their way to make us feel special. Sitting outside under the shade with that spectacular Rose Bay view and a clear sky was the perfect setting for a 5-hour long celebration. Thank you for helping me create endless memories for a friend who truly deserved it. Highly recommended!
We chose Catalina Rose Bay to celebrate our son's 50th birthday, his wife's birthday and their 10th wedding anniversary yesterday. From the moment we walked in their celebration was made memorable. The menu is comprehensive and food is exquisite! The staff were wonderful and looked after our every wish! The location is perfect and our family members commented that it was their most exquisite dining experience ever! Thankyou so much to everyone at Catalina's for helping us to give our family members a most memorable celebration.
We recently dined at Catalina for lunch with my grandparents to celebrate their 63rd wedding anniversary, and as always, it was a beautiful experience. The service was attentive, warm and effortless throughout. The menu was perfectly seasonal, with dishes that were both refined and generous. We were lucky to have a stunning day, and sitting by the glass windows made it all the more special, watching seaplanes land and take off, alongside boats and people enjoying the water… always great to watch. The wine list is thoughtfully curated and complemented the seafood dishes. A particularly lovely touch was the personalised anniversary message from the chefs on dessert. We’ve dined at Catalina many times for both lunch and dinner, and it continues to deliver every time. Already looking forward to our next visit.
Dishes seemed to be hits & near misses. Tuna tartlet absolutely gorgeous on plate however, the tuna was left in the kitchen, top up the tart thanks. Fish taco super duper finger lickin delicious, so naff though its not Catalina food Devastated with my main John dory filets way overcooked, dry. The szechuan beurre blanc was fantastic saved the dish. Classic desserts, yuzu panna cotta well done Kids menu for $65 needs more thought, deconstructed bruschetta was weird, pasta for main, really?
The highlight of dining at this restaurant is most definately the view. The food was generally good, we enjoyed our mains the most, our starters were just okay. My coconut strawberry dessert was nice however, my partners pavlova was just okay. Considering the price of the restaurant I would have expected more. Service was mixed, because we consistently had so many different servers, things were explained or asked of us multiple times.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
