Tambourine Bay Park: A Serene Harbourside Escape Tucked away at the end of Tambourine Bay Road in Riverview, Tambourine Bay Park is one of Sydney’s true "hidden gems." It offers a perfect blend of manicured green space, rugged bushland, and calm water views, making it a favorite for locals who want to escape the city's hustle without a long drive. Key Features & Amenities For Families: The park features a well-maintained playground with swings and slides. While it’s not as large as some regional "mega-parks," its position next to the picnic areas makes it very easy for parents to keep an eye on the kids while the BBQ is heating up. Off-Leash Heaven: This is one of the premier dog parks in the Lane Cove area. It offers 24/7 off-leash access in the grassy sections. Note: The park is unfenced and has direct access to the water, so it's best for dogs with reliable recall. Picnic & BBQ Facilities: There are multiple sheltered picnic tables and electric BBQs. The sloping lawn provides plenty of room to throw down a rug under the shade of established trees. The "Secret" Beach: At low tide, a small sandy beach is exposed. It’s a popular spot for dogs to have a shallow paddle and for kids to explore the shoreline. Bushwalking Hub: The park serves as a trailhead for several scenic walks, most notably the 3km return walk to Warraroon Reserve. The track takes you through mangroves and sandstone cliffs and even passes a historic 1830s sandstone well. What to Know Before You Go.Feature Details Parking Primarily on-street (Tambourine Bay Rd or Kallaroo Rd). Can be tight on sunny weekends. Facilities Public toilets are available on-site and generally well-kept. Accessibility The main picnic areas are relatively flat, but bushwalks involve steps and uneven roots. Vibe Quiet, peaceful, and community-focused. Less "touristy" than nearby Lane Cove National Park.If you are looking for a noisy, high-energy park with a massive commercial playground, this isn't it. However, if you want a tranquil afternoon where you can BBQ by the water while your dog runs free and your kids explore nature, Tambourine Bay Park is hard to beat
Came here for a dog date! The park is small but you can let your dog off leash, so our dogs loved it here! It was a pretty quiet park, but had picnic tables, bbq facilities and a kids playground. I think there was also a walking track towards the water, but I didn’t go down there so I’m not sure. There are multiple options for parking, both on the street and also in the small parking lot.
Our dog loves this park. Always friendly dogs around in the neighbourhood. Tends to be smaller dogs. Lots of space to run around. Beautiful walk around the school grounds or bush trail. However these are leaded. There is also a secret beach, secluded, great for those swimmers!
Loved visiting Tambourine Bay Park. Parts of the walkways are really picturesque, making it a lovely spot for a peaceful stroll. We spotted tiny red crabs going about their business, some jumping fish, and of course, a few ducks along the way. A great little nature escape.
A very natural walk. It's mostly water level stuff here. Short but beautiful, this is an easy walk.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
