Bennetts Beach 4WD Access is a dog-friendly beach in Hawks Nest with a designated off-leash area where dogs can roam freely. Some conditions apply, so it's worth checking before you visit.
Off-leash is permitted dawn to dusk in the designated section — the open beach roughly 3.8 kilometres north of Sanderling Avenue. Dogs must be on-leash near the surf-club / southern end and outside daylight hours; dogs are prohibited at the Yacaaba / Myall Lakes National Park end; stay 50 metres from patrolled swimming areas.
Absolutely beautiful spot, the beach is great for kids as it isn't too rough as the sandbar further out stops big waves and forms natural swimming pools that aren't too deep, great beach to 4wd on, definitely recommend this beach 🏖️
Great spot beautiful place, ruined by National Park and Wildlife rangers who discriminate against visitors and tourists in favour of the locals. On four occasions four different rangers have directed us to use the beach and parks in town. After having many similar experiences with rangers in other parks, no longer being able to book camping spots I have decided that I will not be getting another parks pass and beach driving pass until National Parks improve their attitude and behaviour towards the people who contribute towards their salaries.
Love going out for a long weekend adventure. Life’s Good
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
