We had an amazing dinner at Rekodo in Barangaroo to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday, and it was such a wonderful experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was fantastic — warm, stylish, and perfect for a special occasion. We were a group of three and chose the Longplay set menu, and everything was beautifully presented and full of flavour. Two standout dishes for us were the beef tataki (absolutely delicious) and the charcoal-grilled fish steak, which was cooked perfectly and tasted incredible. The scallops were also a highlight — fresh, and really well balanced. Most importantly, the service was exceptional. The staff were genuinely friendly, attentive, and always smiling, which made us feel truly welcomed and looked after throughout the entire meal. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a great Japanese restaurant in Sydney with amazing food, great vibes, and outstanding service. We’ll definitely be back!

Amazing environment! Booked for a work lunch as it was convenient. Plenty of tables available. Staff we so helpful, we had the $75 planned meal, and it just kept coming. So much food, that was fantastic, well done Chef! Definitely will return!

We went there for the “Chef Table Experience”. Everything was perfect and totally worth it! We sat at the bar table in front of the kitchen, allowing us to see the process of how the food was prepared. All the dishes were nicely presented and explained by Chef Evan who was knowledgeable, attention to details as well as nice & welcoming. We really loved the Chawanmushi which was extremely smooth and silky. The wagyu beef was grilled nicely and went perfectly with the rice. The dessert was superb too - the sweetness of the coconut went well with the fruitiness and the freshness of the passionfruit and mango. You can feel that they put in a lot of effort and thoughts in designing and executing every single dish. They also lighted a sparkler on the dessert for us to celebrate our honeymoon! Service was also great. Out server Ash was cheerful and helpful. Highly recommended!

We reserved the Chefs Table being unsure of what we were about to experience. We are glad we took this leap of faith. The food, atmosphere and the staff were amazing.Dale the Chef made the entire experience even more grand with his friendly attitude, engaging conversations and the food he prepared was beyond any food experience we have had while living in Sydney.Would highly recommend the chefs table. Especially if you get Dale as the chef. We will definitely be attending again as long as Dale is the chef there.I would have given a 10 star rating if that was available.

Great location, lovely setting and interior (love the records) and the food was delicious and well cooked. Prawn toast took me by surprise, was expecting the traditional ones made with regular bread. Very nice. Everything was good, can't complain there. Service was okay, expected a bit more for a place of this calibre. Our server was nice but some others looked a bit grumpy and the drinks order was late for one drink and forgotten for another.
