Reef Beach is a beach in Balgowlah Heights where dog access has not yet been confirmed — it's worth checking before you visit.
The best swimming spot I have found in Manly so far! The water was crystal clear, the beach was not crowded and I had a fantastic time here! Would highly recommend
Nice little beach... no nude bathing, in case you were wondering! ❗ Wondering why that's on the sign? It's because Reef Beach was actually a nude beach from the '70s to the mid-90s. ⛱️ It's a perfectly pleasant place to relax, and the water is very calm. It's not very big and there aren't amenities, except for the toilets. ✨ Site of an Aboriginal midden. Look to the right as you come down the track to the beach. I've uploaded a picture of the sign. 🚻 Toilets directly opposite the track to the beach. 🚶♀️ On the Bondi to Manly (and Spit to Manly) walk.
The bush walk down to beach is much easier than it used to be. Lovely, quiet city beach.
Reef Beach was an ideal place to stop for a swim and cool down on the Spit to Manly scenic walkway—if you’re coming from the Spit, it’s a bit past halfway, and at the bottom of some significant ups and downs. I left refreshed and happily finished the walk into Manly.
So calm and the water is cold even on a warm day, beautiful and isolated, good for a kip and a dip
