Third time here , purely because nothing else was open. Forgot part of our order . Waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for food . Cafe only half full with four staff on. I was hoping things had changed but sadly not . Same excuses given as last time and they are still running to Woolworths for supplies ! Shame , as food is adequate and they are lovely people . Great business opportunity going begging.
My husband and I ordered breakfast and drinks. Waited 30 minutes for coffee which was the wrong size but replaced pleasantly. We then waited another 20 minutes for our order. 0ther patrons were also waiting for roughly the same amount of time with some going to the counter to enquire about their order. The Cafe had 6 tables of customers (not busy) all waiting, however the staff didn't move with a sense of urgency. The young waitress was apologetic for the delay. A pleasant place to have a meal as long as you have all the time in the world.
Waited 45mins for a few rolls, toastie and Carmel slice, no update about the wait when I asked no apologies, Carmel slice I had to ask for repeatedly. When is came out the bread was squashed to a dry waifer and difficult to eat is was so dry. Staff has no customer service skills at all Was 1 customer before us and only 5 tables taken in that 45mins. Ordered 9:55 didn’t get food till 10:45
Before ordering food or coffee, perhaps ask how long the wait time is. My husband and I ordered a takeaway Bacon and Egg roll, and a Breakfast wrap and waited 50 minutes. 0ther patrons were also waiting for roughly the same amount of time. When I enquired around the 40min mark, how much longer the wait time might be, the barrista shrugged his shoulders and said "I don't know. There's one cook." Given the amount of patrons waiting for food and coffee on a Saturday morning, the staff could've moved with a sense of urgency, and at least be apologetic for the delay. What we witnessed instead was slow-moving staff, with not a care in the world.
Definitely recommend this gem. A beautifully presented cafe. Friendly staff (not even a hassle when a plate of food smashed- accident by us) who were welcoming and it was not a trouble at all attending to our requests of extras on our meals. Cafe and staff were very welcoming of two young (often loud) boys. The food was amazing and the milkshakes and smoothie.... Well OMG sums them up. What a treat to taste something that brings you back to old school cafe taste. Give it a try you won't be sorry you did.
